Bodley's live edge bowl
This was turned from a limb that had been amputated some years previously and had seasoned. This one has a sanded finish only - down to 3000 grit with a small circular sanding pad - and has quite a high gloss finish not really visible in the photo. I wondered whether some of the shine was created by friction on whatever resins remained in the wood - but perhaps it was just the burnishing effect of using such a fine grit.
